Our library is constantly being updated. It
contains reference material relating to a wide range of local activities from
early settlement to the present.
Subjects include industries such as: fishing,
shipping, transport, timber, tourism (which covers the guest house era) and
mining, particularly oil and gas.
Information is available on shipwrecks and
exploration, early settlers, businesses, churches, school and cemetery records.
The Society also holds a large collection of
photographs, maps and newspapers.
Our research officers are ready to assist with
requests for information relating to the history of Lakes Entrance and
surrounding areas, including Lake Tyers, Lake Bunga, Kalimna, Metung,
Johnsonville, Swan Reach, Bruthen, Nicholson, Nowa Nowa and Nungurner.
