Lakes Entrance: Plenty
of Tailor and Salmon are on the go using lures on an incoming tide.
Fishermen have been bagging out between the Entrance and Nyerimilang.
The Jetties are producing Luderick on weed. A few Bream and Trevally are
taking glassies & pilchard.
Lake Tyers: Fishing has slowed down, but some nice size Bream and
Flathead have been caught on local prawn.
Mitchell River: Bream are biting around the Mouth and The Cut area
on local prawn.
Tambo River: Fishing has been fairly quiet, but a few Bream are
biting around the Mouth and Marshalls Flats. Best bait is prawn.
Nicholson: The cold weather has kept most fishermen away, but some
Bream have been landed on peeled prawn.
Metung: Mullet, Bream and a few Flathead have been caught using
local prawn.
Paynesville: Some good size Bream to 1.4kg. have been landed off
the Jetties on local prawn.
Loch Sport: Surf conditions have been reasonably calm lately, with
a lot of shallow water. Mullet are in good supply, taking pippies and
chicken. Salmon are in short supply – just a few Spotty Salmon and the
occasional larger one.
Hollands Landing: Plenty of Mullet are around, with a few King
George Whiting, Bream and Luderick taking peeled prawn in The Straits
area. The odd Flathead has been taken on whitebait.
Marlo: The Mullet have arrived and are in big numbers. Catches have
been reported from Gilbert’s Gulch, the platforms along the Snowy, Marlo
Jetty down to the Entrance. Bream are still biting in the Snowy and
Brodribb rivers on sandworm and prawn. Estuary Perch are being taken from
the Snags in the Snowy. Luderick are plentiful around the Rock Groins
taking sandworm. Salmon and Tailor seem to be everywhere taking soft
plastic and metal lures. The surf beaches are producing plenty of big
Salmon, Tailor and Flathead, best baits – Blue, white, squid & poppers.
Offshore is booming when weather permits, with Flathead, Gurnard, Squid,
Pinky Snapper and Shark all on the chew.
Bemm River: Windy conditions have hampered fishermen; however; good
size Bream have been taken on prawn & sandworm.
Mallacoota: Large Flathead to 86cm. are biting in the Top Lake on
soft plastics, prawn and pilchard. The Entrance is producing Tailor,
Trevally and Salmon on lures and prawn. Good size Bream have also
been biting in The Top Lake on prawn and yabby. Salmon to 2kg. Have
been taken off the surf on lures and pilchard. Offshore, Flathead and
large Trumpeter to 4kg. Have been on the go. |
